A Serious Post

Anyone who knows me, even a little bit, knows how important my family is to me. I've struggled with my blog the last two years and I've even contemplated going private. This blog is becoming more and more a journal and diary and I worry that it's not always about sewing and crafting. I worry about what YOU think. Which means I've forgotten why I blog in the first place. It's for ME. I blog for ME. So if you don't mind reading about all the other family and friend stuff along the way with a bit of sewing and crafting thrown in.......that's great! I'm really glad you're here!!!!

My youngest son was in a car accident on Friday night. I got the call at work and then even spoke to him, in the ambulance on the way to hospital. It was pretty bad. His friend, who was driving, has only had her license for 6 months and I guess inexperience was a major factor. They hit a pole and they hit it hard enough to write her brand new car off. A brand new car though, means that they both had airbags deployed. If they'd been in any of our cars this wouldn't have happened. Old cars is all we drive. Jack is ok and so is his friend. They were EXTREMELY lucky. They were both kept in hospital overnight. Jack has hit his head and has seatbelt bruising on his lower stomach. His bruises are colourful today! Right across his stomach and both hips as well as a shiner on his face. His friend is temporarily in a wheelchair with tissue damage to her legs.
It could have been so much worse.

I'm glad I write about the days I spend with my boys. The days we laugh together and get to experience lots of wonderful things. I'm so glad I tell them everyday how much I love them. I'm glad I get to hug them often. I'm glad I don't take these days and moments for granted.
Going to hug them both a bit tighter from now on.
Teresa xx

I am so glad they are both going to be fine. I always admire the love that you have for your boys and the obvious love they give back to you. Something very special these days.

Hope the two patients continue their speedy recovery.

Love everything about your blog and I even going to attempt the paper bows for a double baby shower my daughter and I are going to in a fortnight. Wish me luck but with such a great tutorial it should be a breeze.

Teresa, I love reading about your family so I hope you continue your blog the way it is. I too like to blog about the things we do as a family. My memory isn't as good as it used to be these days so mine is like a diary too. I hope your son and his friend recuperate quickly and yes Teresa tell them how much you love them and hug them as often as you can, time passes so quickly. Hugs.....

I read your blog for various things.............your crafting but also your days out with the boys are your always going to different stuff around the place and have some yummy food in a city I know very little about.........and having experience I don't have......everyone has to write what they want to write and people will choose to read it or not........there decision.......hope you don't go private.......

once again glad you boy is ok........a slow few days/week with his mummies care is just what he needs...........

So glad your son and friend are going to be okay. What a frightening call that must have been for you! As for what you post on your blog, you're right - it's for YOU!! And I much prefer to read blogs about real people. With real lives. And sometimes real problems.

how devastating Teresa, so glad that they have come through it relatively well. It only takes a blink of an eye. So so glad he is ok.
All the things you are worried about having on your blog are why it is so wonderful to visit it. I hope you will continue blogging and sharing your crafts and family with us all.

Teresa, I love reading about your crafty endeavours and what those adventurous boys of yours are up to (although Jack's latest was just a bit too adventurous!) I really feel for you getting that phone call every parent dreads and am so pleased that things are relatively okay. So - continue with your blog any way that suits YOU. Keep safe and keep smiling. xx

So glad your son is ok, and hope you have recovered too. The car can be replaced but not our precious children. And of course you should include your family on your blog. For many of us, blogging is the weekly sewing group we can't get to.......and with our stitching comes all the personal highs and lows too. You should write what you like. X

I am so glad Teresa that Jack and his friend will both be ok, what a scary time for your family.
I have been reading your blog for many years and I love the mix of family, friends, and crafting you blog about. You are a very talented lady, a special friend to those lucky ladies who get to craft with you often, and a very loving Mother of those two very lucky boys.
Take care of yourself also Teresa. xoxo

Oh goodness gracious Theresa, so glad they are ok. My son was in a single car accident a couple of years back and the nearer I got home from work, the more I just knew something was wrong so I was not that shocked when I got home and found out about it. I hope you will continue to blog to an audience. I do love reading your posts. I blog for the same reason although I like comments as it starts mini conversations but you don't always get that (even I don't always comment) but one of my main reasons is that I hope my future family will find the posts and learn more about who I was. Wouldn't you love to read your Great Grandma's old blog? C.xxx

Firstly, I'm so glad they are both okay. Secondly, this is your blog and you should write it for you! We are just the lucky ones to get a glimpse of your world. I find it interesting to visit with you and see how folks live in a part of the world I know I'll never see. The common thread through it all is that we all have hopes, dreams, worries and joys with a bit of stitching thrown in for good measure. I'm glad you are here and I'm glad I visited with you today. Hugs!

Hope he and his friend will recover soon.
They had a guardian angel with them, otherwise it could have been much worse.
And I like to read everything you blog about, just don´t find the time to comment so often.
