I've had a lovely weekend and taken a few photos along the way.
We've had a little taste of winter - and I mean little! One cold morning and one frosty night so far! You always know it's cold when the cats settle in and refuse to budge!
My youngest took me out for lunch yesterday which was really lovely.
We are lucky to have a choice of wonderful cafés near us. My spicy chicken quesadillas were delicious!
Never a dull moment at our place! Jack has moved his drums into his bedroom - a move I seriously hope is temporary!!
I have been working on a couple of stitcheries. These I am taking on my retreat next week to Warwick. I hope to get a couple of projects finished - one of Marilyn Duncan's designs and another of Natalie Birds.

I have finally finished my mouse pincushion by Natalie Bird.
I just love it!!! So many lovely pieces to this and it is going to be a very handy addition to my sewing table.
A little pocket on this side for threads and bits and pieces.
This side has a little needle case with 2 pieces of wool felt inside.
And a little scissor pocket on this side.
I'm really happy with my pincushion.
I was keen to get mine finished as the girls (Helen, Sandi and Norreen) all had theirs made at stitching yesterday. Aren't they gorgeous?
I have also finished my "Life is Beautiful" stitchery. Well it's not quite finished. I want to make it into a little mini quilt now.
This was so much fun to stitch and play with.
This is a great free stitchery from Stacey at Bakercourt ...which you can find HERE.
I have made this months 6" block to match my latest mini quilt charm. A little basket block.
Today I have been sorting fabrics, patterns and kits and packing for my retreat next week. It looks like I'm going for a month. I hope I get at least half of what I'm taking finished!!! Some small projects, my Gossip in the Garden blocks, and a French General fabric quilt. Can't wait!!!!
Hope you're having a lovely week!

What? No stitching with the girls this week? That's because Helen has a new car .......
Yes she does! So of course we made her take us all for a drive!!!! Poor Helen!!!
Seriously.... Heh heh heh .....We can turn any situation into a fun day together.
I love these girls. Such a fun day and we didn't even know where we were going!
First a trip to a great scrapbooking shop (that is closing down unfortunately!) Check out the sweet pins and doilies.
But we did score ourselves some beaut bargains.
Of course a day out wouldn't be complete without a drink and bite to eat. The Coffee Club definitely didn't disappoint. Thanks to Helen telling me about this .... I had the most delicious drink ever .... Hazelnut hot chocolate with a shot of coffee.
Such a great, spur of the moment, fun day.
Oh! And the car is fantastic, by the way!!!! We all fit in and that's the most important part!!!!
I did manage a little bit of stitching in the evening with a fur baby sleeping on my lap, keeping me warm.Hope you're having a great week!

Last Sunday at our monthly Sunday Stitchers get together we went pink.... all for a very good cause.
We had our Biggest Morning Tea to raise funds and awareness for Breast Cancer research.
The day called for pink food.... How wonderful is our pink ribbon cake made by Maree?
We went all out and the food was fantastic!
We had pink cakes, strawberries, marshmallow tea cups, pink cookies, apple and berry crumble, beetroot dips, salmon, salsa, pink M and M's......we had it all!!!
Aren't the little teacups wonderful? Made by the very clever Susan!
We had a raffle and game to raise money and also purchased Breast Cancer awareness coffee mugs for the morning tea. It was a great day, made even more special with the fundraising for such a worthwhile cause.
This month we also celebrated Cheryls birthday with lots of birthday fat quarters.
So another fat quarter cupcake was in order.
|Maree, Jeanette, De, Cheryl, Lynda, Noela and me... gossiping!|
The Gossip in the Garden girls have completed another block ....well Cheryl had another "late slip" ha ha!!! Her note started with "Out of order....." Lucky there is no punishment!
Lots of Show and Tell.... Inca and her gorgeous quilt.
Helen and her gorgeous Twilight Garden quilt. On the right is Maureen who just happens to be the designer of this quilt.
Lynda and her gorgeous Camille Roskelly block
Look how industrious the girls are.... stitching away and making beautiful things.
I did manage to get some stitching done, by the way. Helen, Sandi, Norreen and I decided to work on our mouse pincushions and I finished the wool applique side on the day.
Thank you so much Maree for organising a wonderful day. It was a lot of fun, as always, and I can't wait for the next one....
Have a great week!

I had a lovely day today with my stitching group. I really look forward to my Tuesdays!
Sandi made the most delicious mandarin cake. I don't think I have ever had one before. It was really good!
We are working on our Natalie Bird "mouse pincushion". One side is finished with it's embroidery and little pocket. Wool appliqué is on a second side and we will stitch that down next week.
This months block of Gossip in the Garden is finished. Lots of little pieces of fabrics in the 4" squares! I nearly went crazy!!!
I have done some prep work on next months Dresden plate blocks. There are four of them with a little stitchery in the centre. This quilt is so much fun!!! I will see the Sunday Stitching girls, who are doing this quilt with me, this weekend and I can't wait to see everyone's progress!
Today I received a wonderful email from a lovely blogging friend, Roz, who I met way back when I first started blogging (5 years ago!). She was my first ever swap partner and we were in a "paper bag swap". It was so lovely to hear from her and take a photo of my gorgeous swap presents she made for me. I love the things people make for me. I love that a little piece of them is in that handmade treasure. I have been very lucky over the years! It made my day hearing from you Roz!
Hope you are having a lovely week!
