Enough Rain!

The rain has not stopped. The wind was incredible last night and we have had one tree come down - luckily not close to the house. We were in the car attempting to get to my in-laws house this morning. Most of the roads around here have been flooded. My work has closed and there is the worst flooding on Tamborine Mt that I've ever seen. A person has been swept away on the very road we drove home on last night. So tragic. My youngest son is still stuck in northern NSW and unable to get home.
We were going to attempt to take my sister in law home to Miles this morning - about an 8 hour round trip. But all roads are closed. I am quite relieved we aren't making the drive!!
These photos are of one of the roads we attempted to get through this morning and the Albert River.
Stay safe everyone!

It's just unbelievable this weather, so scary. My sentiments exactly about the no more rain please, I wish the system would go out to sea. Keep safe and lets hope that things calm down soon.

It looks bad. We don't have a fear of flooding but the wind and the big trees next door made us a bit nervous. The sun is out a bit now and we are just watching the waters rise elsewhere on TV. Stay safe.

We had serious rain (380mls!!) and a lot of wind that blew down heaps of trees and branches. The river hasn't even reached it's peak and down town in already flooded and we're cut off from all sides by water on the roads and the airport, and the shops have nothing left!!
I got pics, come and see!

Wasn't the wind awful. Glad you are safe. My son has had no power for 36 hours....glad the rain has abated. My heart goes out to the 2011 folks waiting for the peaks.

Definitely no paddling at Macleans Bridge, it would be 8metres over your head! That's incredible!
