Ready, Steady... Go!

On Tuesday at our Stitching Group we had a Jelly Roll Race. Not everyone went in the race but 3 of us did. This is Mary sewing her rows. And Helen making a nice rainbow of colour on the floor. We used Bali pops for our quilts and they turned out really lovely. The colours in Marys are just gorgeous. This is Helens (she's hiding as always behind her quilt!)And mine!! I love the colours and the fabrics are beautiful to sew with. I've picked my borders ... now just have to sew them on.This is the 3 of us with our quilts that took from 1 1/2 hours to 2 hours to put together. (An extra half hour to sew the strips together as well)
Not bad hey?The best part of our day was catching up with this lovely lady. Jo used to live here locally and worked in our quilting shop. We all got together every week and saw a lot of each other. For the last 4 years she's been living in New Zealand.
She was here visiting and we all managed to catch up on Tuesday as well. The Gang... all back together. It was sooooo good to see her. The best thing about having wonderful friends like this is even though it's been 4 years since we've seen Jo... when we were together on Tuesday it was like no time had passed at all.
It was a terrific day.
I also wanted to show you these bottle bags I made. I had a couple of bottles of Port to give as presents and I wanted a nice bottle bag to give them in.
I found the tutorial for these ones HERE. I loved this pattern as it was a little different. As it has wadding inside (you could even use Insulbrite) it keeps the wine nice and cold.
It was a nice, easy pattern to follow and I'm really happy with the way they turned out.
What are you up to today?
I hope you get to spend it doing what you love!
Have a great day!

The quilts are also different and all so lovely. It's great to reunite with close friends and I'm sure you had a wonderful time all together again. It is a mark of true frienship when you can spend time apart and picj up where you left off.

Love those jelly roll quilts, is each one made up of one jelly roll?
Maybe you could give a tutorial...are the strips sewn to a certain length, joined at an angle and then each strip sewn to the next?
